Trisha Church Streets of Heaven November 2, 2006

The Stirber Family,

Please accept our deepest condolences.  You have a beautiful family and Boston will always be a part of it.  He will forever be your angel and he's watching you from Heaven.  You are all loved deeply by so many people.  Stay strong, stay close to your family, friends, and the lord and someday soon you'll be able to hold your baby boy again.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.  This song below is one of my favorites by Sherrie Austin.  It's not your exact situation but it's very similar and I think you'll enjoy it.  Take Care.

Love, The Church Family

Hello God, it's me again. 2:00 a.m., Room 304.
Visiting hours are over, time for our bedside tug of war.
This sleeping child between us may not make it through the night.
I'm fighting back the tears as she fights for her life.
Well, it must be kind of crowded,
On the streets of Heaven.
So tell me: what do you need her for?
Don't you know one day she'll be your little girl forever.
But right now I need her so much more.
She's much too young to be on her own:
Barely just turned seven.
So who will hold her hand when she crosses the streets of Heaven?

Tell me God, do you remember the wishes that she made,
As she blew out the candles on her last birthday cake?
She wants to ride a pony when she'd big enough.
She wants to marry her Daddy when she's all grown up.

Lord, don't you know she's my angel
You got plenty of your own
And I know you hold a place for her
But she's already got a home
Well I don't know if you're listenin'
But praying is all that's left to do
So I ask you Lord have mercy, you lost a son once too

And it must be kind of crowded,
On the streets of Heaven.
So tell me: what do you need her for?
Don't you know one day she'll be your little girl forever.
But right now I need her so much more.
Lord, I know once you've made up your mind,
There's no use in beggin'.
So if you take her with you today, will you make sure she looks both ways,
And would you hold her hand when she crosses the streets of Heaven.

The streets of Heaven.

Brandon, Jessica, and Adlyne

Well, Brandon already knows me but I haven't met you (Jessica) and your daughter yet.  I went to school with Brandon at Indiahoma and some at Western.  I haven't talked to Brandon in a while but this isn't what this message is about.  It's about Boston.  I have read a lot about him and what kind of a fighter he is.  Even without his presence physically, he is watching over you three and keeping you guys strong, together, and positive.  It wouldn't be right for me to say that I know how you feel, but it is right for me to say that he's at an awesome place right now that we can't imagine.  He is without pain, sorrow, and guilt that seems to infest this earth.  It is right for me to say as well that he will be at the Gate of Heaven waiting on you all and giving back the love that you are showing him.

I don't need to tell you guys to stay strong and positive because I can tell you guys are.  Keep in mind that you will see Boston again and spend the rest of eternity with him.  It will be great, I promise you.

Very Sincerely,

Scott, Barbara, and Caleb Phelps

P.S.

I promise that our prayers, love, and concern are with you guys and if you all need anything, I'm a phone call away.  (580) 380-2546.

Troy Once met death October 30, 2006

I once met Death.

Death stood and smiled at me.

Death peered into my soul and grabbed a string.

I asked Death what he was doing.

Death replied “Gauging”.

I asked Death “What could you possibly be gauging.”

Death told me the length of my life.

I said “Who are you to determine the length of my life or anyone else’s.”

Death told me “I am the weaver, and artist of life.”

I said “How can you be an artist of life if you only kill.”

Death looked at me and lifted my string.

Death then said “Imagine a tapestry with one long uniform pattern.”

Who would be noticed if everyone’s life was the same span of time?”

Death then unrolled the most beautiful tapestry before me.

So I looked and saw the Tapestry of Life.

Death said “Peer closer.”

I saw the radiant colors and cleverly woven strings touch countless other strings.

Each string rapped and intertwined with other strings and just touching and grazing some.

Death saw the confused look on my face.

Death said “Each person’s life while seemingly small in the Tapestry of Life affects all those others whom they touch while they live.”

Death” I said pointing to a short string “What of this one? It’s so small.”

Death said “That is the life of a child.”

Note that while his string is short the child’s life has great impact on those intertwined with him.”

Death told me “In the tapestry of life the length of time is not as important as to the weaves they form with other lives. There length may be finite but there soul is eternal and is woven into the hearts and mind of those around them.”

While small, the weave was truly beautiful and I began to understand.

There is truth in what Death told me, painful truth but the same none the less.

So I stood and smiled back at Death.
